Zarpo is operated by MK Builds LLC (“Zarpo”, “we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Zarpo app and getzarpo.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Zarpo is in a private beta; the Terms of Service and the Beta Tester Agreement you sign in the app describe the service itself.
1. What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run a savings pool and keep it secure.
- Account details. Your name, email address, mobile number and a password, or a one-time sign-in code sent to your email. Passwords are stored only in hashed form.
- Identity details. Your full legal name, date of birth and street address, which you enter to confirm you are eligible to join a pool.
- Pool activity. The pools you create or join, your seat in the payout order, each contribution and payout and its status, and messages you post in a pool’s chat.
- Payment method.Your card or bank account is collected on Stripe’s pages and stored by Stripe. Zarpo receives only a reference and the card brand and last four digits, or the bank name and last four digits. Card and account numbers never reach Zarpo’s servers.
- Payout account. To receive a payout you open an account with Stripe. Stripe collects what it needs to verify your identity, such as the last four digits of your Social Security number, and holds your payout bank details. Zarpo sees the account’s status and the bank name and last four digits, nothing more.
- Authorizations and agreements. When you sign the Beta Tester Agreement or authorize payments, we record your typed name, the date and time, your IP address and your device or browser, as evidence of your consent.
- Usage information. Screens viewed, actions taken and basic device information, collected through an analytics service so we can see how the app is used and where it fails.
- Email records. A log of the emails we send you, such as sign-in codes, reminders and receipts. We keep the type and time of each email, not its contents.
2. How we use it
- To run your pools: schedule rounds, collect contributions on their due dates under the authorization you gave, send payouts to the member whose turn it is, and keep a ledger of every movement.
- To keep your account secure: sign you in, verify your email, and detect misuse.
- To contact you about your pools and the beta: due-date reminders, receipts, payout notices and important changes. You can turn off reminder emails in Settings; service emails such as sign-in codes cannot be turned off.
- To confirm you are eligible to join a pool.
- To understand how Zarpo is used and improve it.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We share information with the companies that help us run Zarpo, each only for the purpose described.
- Stripeprocesses payments, verifies payout account holders and sends payouts. Stripe’s handling of your data is described in its own privacy policy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers store our database and run our servers and web app.
- An email delivery service sends the emails described above.
- An analytics service receives the usage information described above.
Other members of your poolcan see your name, your avatar, your seat in the payout order, whether each of your contributions has been paid, and anything you post in the pool’s chat. They do not see your contact details, identity details or payment information.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of Zarpo and its members, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. Records of contributions, payouts and the authorizations behind them are kept for as long as accounting, tax and payment rules require, even after an account closes. When the beta ends we may delete accounts and their data; we will tell you before we do.
5. Your choices
- You can update your name, phone number and preferences in the app.
- You can remove or replace your payment method under Payments in the app. Removing it stops future contributions from being collected; it does not cancel obligations in a pool you are already in.
- You can turn reminder emails off in Settings.
- You can ask us to close your account or to send you a copy of the information we hold about you by writing to support@mkbuilds.dev. If you are in an active pool, closing your account follows the pool rules in the Terms of Service.
6. Security
Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections. Card and bank account numbers are entered on Stripe’s pages and never stored by Zarpo. Access to our systems is limited to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires.
7. Children
Zarpo is for adults. You must be at least 18 to open an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
8. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
